Alocasia ‘Frydek’ has dark, velvety leaves with beautiful form but this unusual variegated specimen looks phenomenal with its marbled shades of green, chartreuse, yellow or white. ‘Frydek’ makes an outstanding potted plant for the home and is an easy grower. When it comes to the foliage of A. Frydek, the leaves are quite thick and arrow-headed as mentioned earlier. The thick veins add texture and contrast to the leaf surface. The foliage with its dark green color and white/cream variegation attracts collectors to this plant, rather than its flowers. Alocasia Frydek is not much flowering kind of a plant. However, this plant can flower when they are provided with favorable conditions. The flowers that it produces are of the type of spadix and spathe. You will receive the exact plant pictured in this auction. This is a rare find for collectors, we are excited to offer such a perfect specimen!
The Frydek cannot handle direct sunlight. This plant prefers medium to bright indirect light and warm temperatures. At least 60 degrees or warmer for this guy. Do not let the soil dry out between waterings. A small amount daily or every two days should do. The goal is slightly damp soil most of the time, not wet.
